These terms are between you and Doctor Devify Ltd, which runs The Schema, and sit alongside the site’s Terms of Service. They apply if you're accepted to interview, and you agree to them when you finish setting up your profile.
1. Your listing
Nothing goes live until we’ve checked your GMC registration and approved your profile and each interview. Changes are checked again before they show. We may decline, send back or suspend a listing; booked sessions stand unless we tell you otherwise.
2. Your prices
You set your price for one interview, in whole pounds, from £40 a session (two and three included). Candidates can book two or three together for less each: set those prices yourself, or we work them out at 5% and 15% off (for IMT and CST, from your price less £5). Or choose one interview at a time.
Your price on The Schema for an interview must be no higher than the price you charge candidates who book the same interview, of the same length, with you directly, for example through your own website. How you price it on other platforms is up to you. If your price here is higher, we’ll ask you to bring it down, and may pause your listing until you do.
3. The platform fee, and paying you
Our platform fee is up to 25% of each session’s price, and you get the rest: on a £65 interview, at least £49 to you. On two or three, you get the same share of the order, split across its sessions.
We pay you 48 hours after each session, or sooner if the candidate says it went well; your first 3 payouts wait 7 days and aren’t paid sooner. If a candidate doesn’t show, we pay you 48 hours after it’s marked missed. If a candidate reports a problem within those 48 hours, we hold the payment until it’s settled, then pay you, or refund them in full or in part and cut your share to match. If we refund a session because it fell short, or a booking proves fraudulent, we may take back a share already paid; while a candidate’s bank looks into a disputed payment, that booking’s shares wait. Payments go to the bank account you connect through Stripe; until you have connected one and given your details for HMRC (below), your earnings wait. A session cancelled 24 hours or more ahead isn’t paid.
4. Running your sessions
You set your hours, notice and how far ahead you can be booked. A session is confirmed when the candidate pays, so keep your hours and calendar current. Sessions run in the browser on The Schema, and we note when each of you joins and leaves, to settle missed sessions.
Run each session to the real interview’s format and timings, and give feedback at the end of the call against the real marking; send written notes if the candidate asks. You can move each session once, to another free time, and the candidate can then move it too. Candidates are preparing for real interviews, and a cancellation can set them back, so only cancel for a good reason, such as illness or a clinical emergency, give at least 48 hours’ notice where you can, and tell us why. If you cancel or don’t attend, the candidate is refunded in full. We may pause or remove your listing if you cancel often or at short notice.
5. Candidates
Candidates can cancel up to 24 hours before for a 100% refund. Within 24 hours of the session they get no refund, and you are still paid your share. They can move each session once, free, up to 24 hours before. Each candidate is invited to review the session; reviews and your replies are checked by automated software before they show.
Keep what candidates tell you private, and don’t arrange or take payment for sessions outside The Schema with anyone who found you here.
6. You and us
You’re an independent practitioner, not our employee, responsible for your own tax and for keeping your registration, and for your own conduct in your sessions and the feedback and advice you give. If a claim is made against us because of something you did in a session, or because you broke these terms or the code of conduct, you cover our reasonable costs of it. Your profile text, photo and details are yours; you let us publish them while your listing is live.
Since 2024, HMRC has required platforms like The Schema to report what each person earns through them. So each year we report to HMRC what you earned through The Schema in the calendar year (quarter by quarter, with the number of sessions and our fees), and send you a copy by 31 January. For that, HMRC needs your full name, home address, date of birth and National Insurance number, and the bank account you were paid into where we have it.
You’re free to run mock interviews and interview preparation elsewhere, on your own or with other platforms: nothing here makes you exclusive to us. The one limit is that candidates who found you on The Schema book you through The Schema. If you take one off The Schema, we may remove your listing.
7. Leaving
You can take your profile offline at any time from your Profile tab; sessions already booked stand. You can delete your account there too, once you have no sessions to come and nothing owed to you.
If these terms change, the date above changes. Questions: hello@theschema.co.uk.
