Code of conduct

What candidates and interviewers can expect of each other. Both agree to it when they book or apply.

For interviewers

  1. Run the real format: the stations, timings and marking.
  2. Be on time, prepared and on camera, having read the candidate's notes.
  3. Give honest, specific feedback at the end of the call, against the real marking. Send written notes if asked.
  4. Keep what candidates tell you private.
  5. Keep conversations and payments on The Schema, so we can help if something goes wrong.
  6. If you can't make a session, move it or tell us as soon as you can. If it can't go ahead, the candidate is refunded in full.
  7. Never record a session without the candidate's agreement.
  8. Be courteous and professional: no harassment, discrimination or abuse.

For candidates

  1. Turn up on time and on camera, with your portfolio or application to hand.
  2. Treat it as the real interview.
  3. Move or cancel through the site, within the times on the help page.
  4. Review honestly.
  5. Never record a session without the interviewer's agreement.
  6. Keep messages and payments on The Schema, so we can help if something goes wrong.
  7. Be courteous and professional: no harassment, discrimination or abuse.

If something goes wrong

Candidates: press “Something wasn’t right” on the session in your account within 48 hours. Anyone can email hello@theschema.co.uk with the booking and what happened. A person reads every report, hears both sides and decides. A session that didn’t go ahead is refunded in full; an interviewer who breaks this code is removed.
